April 13, 2020A carbon credit is a term for any tradable certificate or permit endowing the right to emit a certain volume of greenhouse gases. The current measure is one carbon credit equals one tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) or the mass of another greenhouse gas equivalent to one tonne of carbon dioxide. By exchanging, buying, and selling carbon credits in the international market, it encourages businesses and companies to minimize their emission of greenhouse gases.
