Consolidation

Consolidation refers to a movement of price that has a lack of trend, which is neither continuing nor reversing a larger price trend. It usually occurs after downtrends or uptrends, generally regarded as a period of indecision. When price breaks out of an existing support or a resistance level, the consolidation ends.
